Les derniers Jeux Olympiques de Paris ont remporté un grand succès médiatique !  En effet, plus de 9,5 millions de visiteurs ont acheté leur billet pour admirer les 10.500 athlètes  internationaux. Les célébrations organisées dans toute la France ont attiré plus de 6 millions  de visiteurs. Selon Médiamétrie, "60 millions de Français ont suivi les compétitions sur France  Télévisions", c'est à dire environ 88% du total de la population française.  La prestation de Céline Dion à la Tour Eiffel a passionné plus de 29 millions de téléspectateurs  français. La ministre française des sports, Mme Amélie Oudéa-Castera, a avoué que les champions  français ont remporté 64 médailles dans 26 disciplines différentes.
